We’re always working with a range of technologies, audiences and content and this keeps us nicely tangled up in a delicious cocktail of assorted interactive goodies. Our clients are equally as diverse and come from a range of sectors such as the cultural sector (museums, libraries and galleries), financial services, telecommunications, property, government, adult entertainment and more ... yep, from dildos to dinosaurs, we never get bored. The Hybridiser

Orchids have captivated humans for centuries. THE WONDERLAND exhibition at the Auckland Museum explores and investigates this obsession. We were engaged to create a multi-touch experience (‘the hybridiser’) that let’s users ‘play god’ by creating their own hybrid orchid.

NZ on Air

Stories about New Zealand and New Zealanders can be found in more places and via more media channels than ever before. NZ On Air has been a big part of this equation and we were proud to help them create their new website to celebrate this fact.

BankaRate

BankaRate is a great example of our strategic thinking to help our clients thrive in tough times. The premise is simple: a limited number of premiere term deposit rates (well above the market average) available to shrewd investors on a first come, first served basis (until sold out). And sell out they did (within a day or two of each release to date). All in a time of the biggest banking sector meltdown this century.

Mission-On

The Mission-On website was an amazing online world where kids could have heaps of exploratory fun - by playing games, making friends, receiving medals, earning points, setting goals, learning about nutrition and winning prizes. The healthier and more active kids were offline (playing games, making dinner, riding bikes etc), the more they could do back on the website. 66% of all children who encountered the website, volunteered that their behaviour had changed as a result. That's a whopping number of kiwi kids!

Trying to know what’s around the corner in this business is not easy. But it’s part of our job to do so. We spend a considerable amount of time keeping up with emerging technologies, trends, people and behaviours as technology becomes increasingly integrated into our lives.

The SUITE SPOT.

The SUITE SPOT

Natural User Interfaces (NUIs) present new opportunities to make human-to-computer interaction more engaging and fun than ever before.
The SUITE SPOT took live data feeds from blogs, Twitter, Flickr and SMS messages then 'repurposed' all of this into an exploratory scene which grew and reacted to the constant stream of incoming content.

Secret Garden.

Secret Garden

Using dynamically generated animations a tiny ecosystem rejuvenates each night to take over an inner city building.
Imagine stumbling across a giant city garden, visible only at night. Vines flourish, flowers blossom and tiny creatures flock across the night sky. Watch as the virtual garden appears to take over a building, transforming its cold, harsh surface into a wondrous living, breathing, organic habitat.

Dinner? You’re on the Menu

This is one of several concepts developed for an Aquarium in Malaysia.
This fully immersive visitor experience sees a group get into a shark cage on the back of a "boat" on a bright sunny day. The cage is then lowered into the "sea" and on the 3-D screens surrounding them, the water levels rises as the temperature get chillier. Suddenly, from out of the dark depths, a glimpse of a huge tail is seen at the corner of the cage, and the group feel an almighty thud as the "shark" investigates a potential dinner. A terrifying 3-D shark encounter, that can be done without getting wet!

Carpark Art

We are finding ourselves moving increasingly into exploring digital concepts in exterior spaces, as the technology becomes more robust and bright.
This concept is to bring a whole new exhibition space to the New Dowse, by adding an exterior screen. Using LEDs at a very coarse resolution, the surface itself lends to unusual art work, both generated for the space, as well as promoting what is inside the building.

Take Flight.

Take Flight

We have always wanted to make the large walls we all walk past at the airport digital, and interactive!
This concept involves projecting a character onto the wall - as people walk by, the technology will latch on to one person and track them - appearing to walk along beside them until they disappear form the screen. Take one step back, and so will the character. The result could be eye catching and playful.

We’re very proud of some of our achievements. We made the world’s first interactive television documentary (waaaay back in 1996) and we’re the only New Zealand company to have won three medals (including Gold) at the New York Festivals new media competitions. That’s not intended to be bravado; it’s just a fact that should assure you that you’re in the right place.

Over the years our work has been recognised by the (e)-vision Awards (formerly Interactive New Zealand ICON awards), Admedia Advertising Effectiveness Awards, AIMIA (Australisian) Awards, American Museum Awards (MUSE), Axis Awards, Best Design Awards, CAANZ EFFIE Awards, EMMA (European Multi Media Awards), Horizon Interactive Awards, Interactive New Zealand ICON Awards, International Television Association (NZ) Awards, Net Guide Awards, New York Festivals New Media Competition, NZ Direct & Interactive Marketing Awards, NZ Marketing Magazine Awards, TUANZ Business Internet Awards (formerly Interactive New Zealand ICON awards), TUANZ Interactive New Zealand Awards, W3 Awards (International Academy of Visual Arts), Wellington GOLD Awards, Yahoo (Australasia) Site of the Year.

Her role is to keep a watchful eye on your project, ensuring that it's meeting its strategic objectives. She also challenges her teams to create innovative, exciting work.

Our strategy team will work closely with you to gain an in-depth understanding of your business drivers; your products and distribution channels; the market you compete in; and guide the user experience. A good strategy also measures success. Click Suite will help you understand the effectiveness of your site through a full analysis of your site's traffic, customer feedback and other success measures.

AWARD WINNING VISUAL MAGIC!

Design for interactive media is the creation of a digital environment that facilitates human activity and invokes an emotional response. It needs to adapt to the content, individual characteristics of each visitor and change gracefully over time.

Once we have agreed on your strategy we begin the process of designing your site on screen, keeping in mind your target audience and business objectives.

Our design team will then start adding their award winning visual magic! Often working through a series of different design options or styles, we will keep you closely involved in this process so you can provide feedback on as it is being built.

TECHNOLOGY YOU CAN TOUCH

Our technical team have a reputation for tackling problems that "can't be done" and doing them.

As well as building applications from scratch, they also work collaboratively with IT departments, network developers and back-end suppliers when required.

Along with building websites from scratch, we provide website hosting and maintenance. We can tailor a package to suit your needs. We are also experts in interfacing software with hardware, including kiosk touchscreens, gestural interfaces, the Nintendo Wii and location-aware devices.
